In my estimation, the one pictured is identical to mine although it is in better condition. In addition to looking distinctive and beautiful, the desk has been used and well-loved. I still have the antique skeleton key for the glass top. Actual desk is currently in storage but I am happy to pull it out for serious potential buyers with no obligation to buy. There are signs of wear and aging on the actual 1940s-ish desk (scratches, worn areas) but nothing that stands out. It would look great with some polish and shine. The spiral point on top broke off once during a move. Desk comes in two pieces…the ‘bookshelf half’ rests on top of the ‘desk half.’ Still have original skeleton key to lock bookshelves.’ Note: it has always been difficult to move the desk without the spiral on top coming off so I just remove it first. While the actual spiral is not damaged, the small post that holds the two parts together is snapped in two. I will not reglue the spiral in case the buyer would rather have a new post put in. (I always glued it because, once moved to a new location, it was not likely to get bumped or knocked off.)
